Everton's 45-million-pound signing Gylfi Sigurdsson has repaid the faith of the EPL side's thin tank with a wonder goal against Croatian outfit Hajduk Split in the  UEFA Europa League play-off on Thursday. The midfielder's stunning 50-yard strike helped Everton draw level after Josip Radosevic had put the hosts ahead on the stroke of half-time.

The 27-year-old former Swansea player from Iceland became the toast of his teammates on his full debut for the Toffess when he intercepted a pass and as he was falling, salmmed a first-timer 50 yards out from the goal. Even though, he lost his balance, the ball went looping over a stunned Hajduk goalkeeper and sailed into the net.

The goal helped Everton draw the match and wrap up a 3-1 aggregate win and a place in the group stage.
