Spanish legend Rafael Nadal and Russian superstar Maria Sharapova are two of the fiercest competitors ever to wield a tennis racquet. The two shared a short, but intense practice session in Rome this week.
Sharapova won a rally when Nadal made an error and the former world No. 1 appeared to call it quits there. "That's it," Sharapova said, raising her arms. "I'm done."
Sharapova later raveled in a tweet that she was nervous to share the practice session with Nadal.
“Two minutes on court with the GOAT 🐐 @RafaelNadal #BucketList Was so nervous.”
Nadal, meanwhile, thanked Sharapova for hitting a few balls with him.
“Thanks Maria! It’s been a pleasure hitting with the you a few balls,” the world No. 2 tweeted.
The two are in Rome for the Italian Open.
