Moderate wine consumption is said to have small health benefits for the heart, according to certain studies.
However, Dr Oliver Guttmann, a consultant cardiologist at the Wellington Hospital in London, recently told The Guardian that drinking wine isn't good for health.
Though wine may have a few heart benefits, it's also a Group 1 carcinogen, along with tobacco and asbestos.
People shouldn't think they can eat poorly and make up for it with a glass of wine. It's not medicine, the doctor said.
Instead, one can get health benefits from fruits like berries and grapes.
According to the British Heart Foundation, a person shouldn't drink more than 14 units of alcohol a week.
