Menstrual leave allows individuals to take paid or unpaid leave when experiencing physical discomfort due to menstruation.
The plan was announced at the Governor's policy address in the Kerala Assembly.
The state already has menstrual leaves for university students.
The plan, named 'Project Menstrual Dignity,' proposes to give 3 days of menstrual leave a month.
It also aims to make educational institutions and public spaces more welcoming to women and girls.
The girls are also assured of weekend catch-up classes so they don't fall behind in their studies.
