Tata crosses 3 lakh mark in Magic sales

Mumbai: Tata Motors crossed the 3 lakh mark in public transport vehicle Magic sales, a proof of the auto major's success in breaking the complex structure of the last mile passenger transport vehicle industry.

"The Magic’s success is a testimony to our engineering excellence and strong customer orientation," said Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Business Unit executive director Ravi Pisharody.

This success didn't come easy for Tata Motors said its Commercial Vehicle Business Unit senior vice-president (Product Statergy & Planning and Customer Value Creation) Ramakrishnan. Officials from Tata Motors were in constant interaction with authorities, trade unions and even drivers to sensitise them about the benefits of migrating from their three-wheelers to Magic and Iris.

“The key markets of Magic are Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. In states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Bengal, Magic has been allowed to run in intra-city routes with stage carriage permits,” Ramkrishnan added.

“Magic successfully replaced auto rickshaws in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Assam, West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh.”

The Magic family comprises of the Magic Diesel (BS3 & BS4), Magic CNG (BS4), Magic Iris Diesel (BS3 & BS4) and Magic Iris CNG (BS4). In addition, the warranty has been increased and the Tata Magic now comes with an unmatched warranty of 2 years / 72000km (whichever is earlier).
