Delphia 2018: Voyage through the gothic literature and its transcendental realm

Bengaluru: Delphia 2018, the Intra Collegiate Fest of Kristu Jayanti College, panoramizing 'The Gothic Chronicles' began with the inaugural session. The Principal of Kristu Jayanti College, Rev. Fr. Josekutty P. D inaugurated the fest. It was followed by promotion of the fest highlighting the different aspects of gothic narration in the college quadrangle. Live Exhibition which unfurled the different layers of gothic territory of literature was the cynosure of the fest. The beneficiaries traversed into the gothic enclave through its unparalleled magical and mystical representation.

The Live exhibition was a museum of learning which gave tribute to the classics in Gothic literature. Vikram with Betal on his back acted as the tour guides for the exhibition. They went through Edgar Allan Poe reciting the death of his lover "Anabelle Lee", A scene from Shakespeare's Macbeth, Hansel, and Gretel with the creepy child consuming witch, and the birth of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The tour ended with Count Dracula and his humorous side making the end of the exhibit, truly a sight to behold.

"The live exhibition was truly breathtaking and artistic. The actors put in amazing effort to express themselves in accordance to the specific character. The show took each one into a minimal show of the vast aspect of Gothic Literature. I personally loved it." Said Keziah Grace, BA JPSEng, 6th semester

The fest enthralled the beneficiaries through the distinct competitions namely:As You Like It, Creative Writing, Slam Poetry, JAM, Literary quiz, and Narrative Wars. "As you like it" was the monoact event which showed an active participation from the first years. The competitors excelled in each genre through their mesmerizing performance. The winners were given away the prizes at the valedictory function.
