Making the state proud, four Keralite students scored 100 percentile in four subjects at the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate or CUET-UG. K Sidharth, Jona Joseph, G Shivapriya and Aksa Merin Abraham are the four candidates who bagged the perfect score.
Around 66 government colleges in Kerala have been functioning without an institution head for the last four years. Even though the Public Service Commission has recommended a list of eligible candidates for Principal post two months ago, the government shies away from approving the list or making the appointments.
According to statistics available with the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), 93 top candidates had chosen IIT Bombay as their first preference, and 69 of them made the cut in the first round of seat allocation for the IITs.
The committee says that regular classes for students of standards 5-12 could take place from 8 am to 1 pm, while extra-curricular activities such as employment training, laboratory, library etc. and training in arts and sports could be imparted during 2-4 pm.
The apex court had on September 16 suggested that the Centre assist these medical students by creating a web portal giving details of the foreign universities, where they could complete their courses as per the government's academic mobility programme.
Candidates who have submitted a copy of the expired or soon-to-be expired visa along with the application should upload the acknowledgement copy via the candidate portal on the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in of the Commissioner of the Entrance Examinations before 3 pm on 24 September.

The trial allotment list of the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) for admission to engineering and architecture courses has been published on the website of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (cee.kerala.gov.in).
The selected candidates could complete the course in a disciplined manner and would be provided free food, accommodation and other facilities too. Besides, there is allowances for uniform/ books/ stationary/ washing.

The Malayalam alphabet is back in the school textbooks in Kerala after almost a decade. Children studying in class two have received the second volume of their Malayalam textbooks which has a page on the Malayalam alphabet (standardised set of letters).
A bench of Justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia said that there should be a transparent system and the web portal should specify complete details of the fees and the number of seats available in the alternate foreign universities from where they could complete their courses.
The option submission for admission to the engineering and architecture bachelors degree programs in the state could be done until 10 am on 19 September. The first round of allotment would be published on 21 September.
