Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance exam, earlier scheduled to be conducted on July 24, has now been postponed. The revised dates will be announced later on the official website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (www.cee-kerala.org).
The application for Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture, Medical and allied courses will be accepted on the website soon. A detailed notification on this will be issued by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations later.
The KEAM exam is held for admissions to BTech, BArch, Pharmacy and graduate medicine courses in institutions in Kerala. The entrance examination for engineering and pharmacy courses were originally slated for June 20 but was postponed later to July 24.
The decision to postpone it again was made in view of pending editions of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Mains. These are scheduled to be held from July 20 to 25 and July 27 to August 2.
The results of the two editions, which were postponed in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, are likely to be announced in August.
According to an official notification issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA), candidates who have applied for the postponed editions can modify their particulars from July 6 to 8 for the third edition and from July 9 to 12 for the fourth.
JEE-Mains for admission to engineering colleges are being conducted four times a year during Covid-hit academic years to offer flexibility to students and also a chance to improve their scores.
The first phase in February was followed by the second phase in March. Though the next phases were scheduled for April and May, they were postponed in wake of the second Covid wave in the country.
The JEE-Advanced exam on July 3, conducted for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), was also postponed.
