Kochi: Over 8.5 lakh people have visited the fifth edition of Kochi Muziris Biennale which has been attracting art lovers from around the world ever since it began on December 23. The previous edition, which was held before the pandemic struck the world, had only six lakh visitors.
The art jamboree has entered is final stage as curtains will come down on the event on April 10.
The organizers have announced free entry to Biennale exhibition venues on Mondays in the remaining period of the mega art fest.
The number of Biennale venues have been increased to 16 from March 3, with the commencement of the Muziris archaeology exhibition 'Spectres And the Sea' at Fort Kochi Azora hotel and Kashi Art Cafe.
Besides the artworks on display, various art programmes including cinema, music, and drama; lectures, discussions, debates, historical-heritage meetings, journeys, and camps, in addition to the Art Room illustrations, evoked a huge response from the public.
Entry is from morning 10 till evening 7. The general tickets are priced at Rs 150, for senior citizens Rs 100, and for students, it is Rs 50.
