The 'Hand of God' that made this businessman an actor

The 'Hand of God' that made this businessman an actor.

Hand Of God which came as the perfect surprise gift from Mazhavil Manorama has charmed the Malayali hearts this Onam. The short movie starring businessman Hitesh Shah portrays the pain and frustrations of a lonely soul in the most heartfelt way. Hitesh plays the main protagonist Nithin in Hand Of God and he talks about his experience.

Becoming a part of Hand Of God:

It was Yamuna, the director of the short film who introduced me to the world of mini screen. The movie beautifully captures in the most realistic way the struggles of a person when he realizes that he is all alone in this world. Yamuna met me when she was looking for an actor suited to play the part. There was an audition and I got through.

Previous acting experience:

None. I am a businessman by profession.

The experience:

I was nervous. I had to portray a range of emotions except for comedy. Scenes were not discussed in advanced as the director was looking for spontaneous reactions to situations from the actors. Had the scenes been discussed beforehand, then I might have planned my acting. Yamuna gave me complete freedom to emote and improvise my scenes. Emotions play a significant role in the movie so I had to do complete justice to those emotions through my acting. In the beginning, Yamuna used to point out the areas to be improved, but as the shoot progressed I was able to understand it more closely and I used to suggest re takes where ever I thought I could improve.

Favorite scene:

The scene in which my character wails in agony when he realizes that he is alone in this world was packed with emotion. It depicted the dark world of loneliness rotating around me and this scene is my personal favorite. I liked the car chasing scene as well though I was a little apprehensive.

About your acting stint:

Everybody appreciated me. They were surprised that I could act so well even though I am a business man.

Native place?

I am a Gujarati by birth. I spent my initial years in Kochi and moved to Thiruvananthapuram later. I am now settled in Bengaluru.
