Veteran actress KPAC Lalitha revealed that she didn’t speak to late actor Thilakan for years. In an interview to a media house, Lalitha said that late actress Sreevidhya had intervened to settle the issues with Thilakan.
“Me and Thilakan didn’t speak to each other for couple of years. Once he had even made baseless accusations against my husband. He alleged that Bharatettan (legendary filmmaker Bharathan) discriminated people on the basis of caste. He liked to pick up fights with me unnecessarily. One day I lost my control and fought with him. Had Oduvil Unnikrishnan not intervened, we would have actually hit each other. Thilakan broke a match stick into two and said ‘I would talk to you only if these two pieces get rejoined.’ I too was angry and said I wouldn’t talk to him even if he was about to die,” Lalitha said.
The actress said that they didn’t talk even when they acted alongside in the super-hit movie Spadikam.
If Thilakan had some suggestions in the combination scenes, he would communicate it to director Bhadran who would then inform Lalitha. However, while filming for the movie Aniyathiparavu, actress Sreevidhya took the initiative to reconcile the actors.
