Oru Adaar Love has been in the news ever since a song from it was released last year. However, the movie which featured an array of newcomers, continue to create controversies even after it hit the screens. The movie has often been the favorite topic for online trolls and memes as well. Roshna who essayed a prominent role in Oru Adaar Love opens up about the controversies and also about her experiences in the movie.
The teacher
"The teacher in Oru Adaar Love is the best character in my career. This is in fact my biggest role so far. I am extremely delighted about it. I have roamed around a lot for an opportunity to act in the movies. Still, I am struggling. Director Omar Lulu has gifted me this role seeing my struggle and hard work. When I am appreciated for my performance I feel contented that I have been able to do justice to him," noted Roshna.

Roshna emphatically states that the movie has turned out amazingly well despite all the controversies. The movie, a love story, features a group of debutants. Roshna feels that it indeed was a great move to make a movie with mostly newcomers in the lead roles, as it offered amazing opportunities to new faces like her.
The movie got mired in controversies since the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' was released. The song made actress Priya Varrier an overnight internet sensation. Roshna reveals that this changed the producer's mind as he decided to cash in on Priya’s new found fame. “Not just the heroine, but the plot itself had to be changed. It happened because of the adamancy of some people. Noorin was supposed to play the female lead in the movie. But after the song became a hit, it was decided that Priya should be made the heroine and the director was pressured to alter the story accordingly. This upset the director Omar Lulu. The producer was on Priya’s side; and she on his,” revealed the actress.
“Omar refused to change the heroine saying that Noorin was brought in by him. That was the beginning of all the problems. Later there were issues regarding the story of the movie. All these made the director very sad. The producer wanted to project the romantic angle between Priya and Roshan’s characters. He didn’t want the romantic scenes with Noorin to be shot. He asked the director to change the plot likewise. But since we had already promoted the film as a triangle love story, it was agreed that the movie would be shot in the way that is now shown in the theaters,” said Roshna.
“Just imagine how a person would feel when she is decided as the heroine initially and then is suddenly replaced by someone else halfway through the movie?” asks Roshna. The actress says that Noorin, however, never complained about it while the movie was being shot. She added that Noorin had behaved extremely cordially with everyone on the sets. Roshna, however, admitted that the close bond that the crew shared, earlier, was lost. “Just like there was a gap between the filming due to alterations in the script, our minds too grew apart. May be the director talked about that divide in the controversial interview,” explained Roshna.
Trolling Priya
Roshna said that Priya Varrier is just a nineteen year old girl and that she felt sad when the young starlet is subjected to brutal trolling whenever the latter says or does something. “She must have her own stands and opinions. More than everything, all of them are really good individuals. But whatever happened while the filming created many misunderstanding between them and they grew apart. I have no doubt that both Noorin and Priya would achieve greater heights. Both are very talented,” noted Roshna.
Omar, the director
Roshna said that Omar Lulu is an extremely loving individual who behaves honestly to everyone. When asked about the criticism faced by Omar’s movies, the actress said that every director has his/ her own interests and they would make movies according to that. She said, “We watch movies as per our preferences. He may be interested in simple and funny scripts. He mostly does such movies. However, his incredible ability to come up with perfect casting for his movies is really commendable. Actor Dharmajan appears as a college student in the movie Chunks which was directed by Omar Lulu. None of us would imagine Dharmajan in a role like that,” observes Roshna.
Roshna also observed that Omar Lulu played a significant role in turning the tables for actors Siju Wilson, Honey Rose and Anu Sithara’s careers. She said Anu Sithara was brought to the limelight as a lead heroine after her much appreciated performance in the movie Happy Wedding. “Similarly, Honey Rose too was given an opportunity by Omar when she had a break in her career. Isn’t it a great thing to enrich the movie industry by finding new talents? Besides, he is opening up opportunities for them as well,” Roshna makes her stand clear.
