Producers Sandra Thomas and Listin Stephen’s spat intensified on Saturday after the two lashed out against each other publicly. Listin mocked Sandra while speaking to the media and said her statements against the producers’ association were a publicity stunt. He also asked why Sandra refrained from wearing a purdah to the association office, days after she arrived in the attire for submitting the nominations, while claiming the office is not safe for women. “Why didn’t she arrive in a purdah after the day of submitting the nominations. Did she not get to rent one the next day?,” asked Listin.
He went on to claim that Sandra was well aware she could not contest for the post of president in the upcoming elections due to the bylaw that states only producers who bankrolled three or more films could contest for the post. “Yet she chose to contest. Her statements and actions were intended to gain publicity,” he claimed, adding that Sandra was eligible to contest only for the executive committee.
Meanwhile, Sandra Thomas also met the press on Saturday and rubbished the statements by Listin. She also reaffirmed that she was eligible to contest in the elections since she had produced over three films. The producer also stuck to her allegations that Mammootty had contacted her to back out of her complaint against the producers’ association. “Mammootty contacted me to withdraw the case when I decided to file a sexual harassment case against the producers’ association members. When I asserted that I would not go back on my decision, he said it is up to me,” she alleged.
