On the movie’s first anniversary, the makers released the deleted sequence, which shows a conversation between Maniyan and his friend Kollan Nanu.
Alongside this reveal, Jithin Laal also hinted at the possibility of a prequel focusing on Maniyan. In a note shared on social media, the director reflected on the film’s journey and its continued popularity.
“It has been one year since our film ‘ARM’ released. Despite many challenges during last year’s Onam season, the film made it to theatres and was warmly embraced by audiences. Even today, people continue to discuss it in many ways, which gives me immense confidence.
The character of Maniyan, brought to life by Tovi’s unforgettable performance, received widespread attention. I continue to get calls and messages from people asking for his return. Sujithettan is already preparing the script for that. Before it takes shape, however, we are busy working on another film.
This upcoming project demands a lot of preparation, but I believe it will be a crowd-pleasing entertainer. The confidence I gained from ‘ARM’ drives me forward. At this moment, I want to thank everyone who stood by the film – our beloved team, the actors, the audience who accepted it, and the media that supported us. I sincerely hope for your blessings in the journeys ahead. Maniyan will return to unlock many mysteries.”
