The team of Puja Kolluru’s upcoming film Mahakali, on Tuesday, revealed that Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna will portray the role of Asura guru Shukracharya. Alongside the announcement, they also released his first look from the film.
Mahakali is part of director Prasanth Varma’s Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU). Sharing Akshaye Khanna’s look, Prasanth Varma, the showrunner of the film, wrote on social media: “In the shadows of gods, rose the brightest flame of rebellion. In this film, Akshaye Khanna embodies Shukracharya with a compelling new avatar, portraying the revered Guru for the first time on screen. With a flowing silver beard, ascetic robes, and piercing luminous eyes, he captures the mysticism and authority of a figure whose wisdom shaped the destinies of gods and demons alike.
The visual showcases Shukracharya before a massive mountain fortress surrounded by towering cliffs, set under a stormy sky with flames rising from ancient altars. Directed by Puja Kolluru, Mahakali represents the next major chapter in the PVCU and marks Akshaye Khanna’s debut in Telugu cinema.
