The announcement video of Lokah Chapter 2 has crossed 5 million views on YouTube. The film is being produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles, had become an all-time blockbuster in Malayalam cinema. Written and directed by Dominic Arun, it was the first instalment of a planned five-part fantasy cinematic universe.

The second film in this universe is Lokah Chapter 2, with Tovino Thomas taking on the lead role. In the first chapter, Tovino appeared in a cameo as the character Michael. Inspired by the folklore of “Chathan,” Michael’s role was created specifically for this cinematic universe. Dulquer Salmaan, meanwhile, appeared in Chapter 1 as the character Charlie, which was based on the legendary figure “Odiyan.” Mammootty will also appear in this universe as a powerful presence, playing a character known as Moothon.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra continues its successful run in theatres, entering its fifth week across 275 screens, and has already grossed ₹280 crore. Beyond Malayalam, the film has also become a major pan-Indian hit in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada, making it the highest-grossing Malayalam film in India. The story drew inspiration from the folklore of Kalliyankattu Neeli, a legendary figure in Kerala’s history.
