Kalabhavan Navas, who played a pivotal role in popularizing the art of mimicry on stages across Kerala, passed away on August 1 this year. His sudden demise left his family, friends, and fans in deep shock and grief. Now, Navas’ son, Rihan Navas, has shared a touching video on social media — recorded just a day before the actor collapsed and passed away. In the background, a heartfelt song sung by Navas for his wife, Rehna, plays, adding an emotional layer to the poignant clip.
The video, recorded on July 31, was shared on Kalabhavan Navas’ social media page by his son, Rihan. That day, Navas had taken a break from his filming schedule to attend a wedding function with his wife, Rehna. While sharing the video, Rihan wrote that those were the final moments his parents spent together — their last goodbye, though neither of them knew it at the time. He added that his mother never imagined she was seeing him for the last time.
“Dear friends, this is a song my Vappichi sang for my Ummichi. Both of them attended a wedding together on July 31 — just a day before he left us. Although he had promised to come from the film location for the event, he couldn’t make it on time. It was already 12:30 PM, and Vappichi said the function might be over by the time he reached. But Ummichi insisted that he come anyway.”
“She urged him to come because she wanted to see him. So, Vappichi came to the function — just to see her. He seemed healthy and cheerful. That moment at the venue turned out to be the last time they saw each other. Neither of them knew it would be their final goodbye. After the function, Vappichi returned to the film location, and Ummichi came back home. Today, they continue to love each other — though now, from two different worlds,” Rihan wrote.
Navas (51) was found unconscious in a hotel room in Chottanikkara and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Now, the video of Navas bidding a heartfelt farewell to his wife by singing a soulful song has deeply moved the audience.
