Sharafudeen–Anupama starrer 'Pet Detective' crosses Rs 9 crore in global gross collection

‘Pet Detective,’ starring Sharafudeen and Anupama Parameshwaran, is making waves at the box office, crossing Rs 9 crore within just a few days of its release. Produced jointly by actor Sharafudeen and Gokulam Gopalan under the banners of Sharafudeen Productions, the film is poised to become one of the biggest hits of Sharafudeen’s career. The comedy entertainer has been receiving rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike.

Directed by Pranish Vijayan, ‘Pet Detective’ features Sharafudeen and Anupama Parameshwaran in lead roles. The screenplay is penned by Pranish Vijayan and Jai Vishnu, while the movie is co-produced by Baiju Gopalan and VC Praveen. Krishnamoorthy serves as the executive producer. Dream Big Films has acquired the distribution rights for Kerala.

Interestingly, ‘Pet Detective’ is also catching attention outside Kerala. Sharafudeen's stellar performance in the film follows his success in ‘Padakkalam.’ He plays Tony Jose Alula, a detective in this comedic investigative thriller. While comedy is the film's main genre, it also includes thrilling action sequences, adding another layer of excitement for viewers of all ages.

In addition to Sharafudeen and Anupama, the film features prominent actors like Vinay Fort, Jomon Jyothir, Vijayaraghavan, and Vinayakan in supporting roles. Shoby Tilakan, Syam Mohan, Nishant Sagar, and Althaf Salim also contribute to the ensemble cast. Pet Detective marked the biggest opening in Sharafudeen’s career and is maintaining strong box office numbers, even on weekdays. The film made headlines when it played over 100 houseful shows across Kerala on opening day.

The music for Pet Detective is composed by Rajes Murukesan, with Think Music acquiring the film’s musical rights. Anand C. Chandran handles the cinematography, while Abhinav Sunder Naik, known for directing Mukundan Unni Associates, serves as the editor. Deeno Shankar is the production designer, and Jai Vishnu is the executive producer. Audiography is by Vishnu Govind, and Gayathri Kishore is responsible for costume design, with makeup by Ronex Xavier. Rajesh Adoor is credited as the chief associate director, while Pranav Mohan takes on the role of production controller. Vijay Suresh oversees post-production, and Jijo K. Joy is the line producer.

The thrilling action sequences in ‘Pet Detective’ are choreographed by Mahesh Mathew, and the film’s songs feature lyrics written by Adri Joy and Sabareesh Varma. The VFX is handled by 3 Doors, with Colour Planet managing the DI. Sreek Varrier is the colorist, and Bibin Xavier serves as the finance controller.
