Ranjith’s new short film ‘Aaro’, starring Shyamaprasad and Manju Warrier, is drawing attention online. Released through Mammootty Kampany’s official YouTube channel, the film has quickly become a talking point, especially with Manju’s striking screen presence.
Running just 22 minutes, ‘Aaro’ explores the loneliness and quiet isolation that shape a person’s inner world. Ranjith brings this out with remarkable restraint, supported by V R Sudheesh’s writing. Several viewers have praised Manju Warrier’s appearance in the film, calling it one of her most beautiful portrayals in recent years. “The beauty of a character lies in the director’s eye. To present Manju this beautifully again, it had to be Ranjith,” one viewer commented. Azees Nedumangad also appears in a key role.
Behind the scenes, the film features music by Bijibal, art direction by Santhosh Raman, editing by Ratin Radhakrishnan, costumes by Sameera Saneesh and makeup by Ranjith Ambadi.
‘Aaro’ is notable for being Mammootty Kampany’s first short film. The banner, which has produced around seven feature films so far, collaborated with Capitol Theatre for this project. The film also marks Ranjith’s return to direction after a break and is expected to be screened at national and international film festivals.
