Bollywood style icon Sonam Kapoor is celebrating a special milestone—she’s expecting her second child. The actress made the announcement on Instagram on Thursday, sharing a striking shot of herself in a hot-pink wool suit with oversized padded shoulders and a soft, curved silhouette. Cradling her baby bump with a tender smile, Sonam captioned the photo with just one word: “Mother.”

Rumours of Sonam’s second pregnancy had been swirling since October, suggesting she was in her second trimester. The Instagram reveal confirms the happy news.
The actress was last seen on screen in the 2023 crime thriller ‘Blind’, directed by Shome Makhija. A remake of the 2011 Korean film, the thriller follows a blind police officer tracking a serial killer. Sonam starred alongside Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak, and Lillete Dubey, bringing her signature grace to the intense role.
Daughter of veteran actor Anil Kapoor, Sonam started her film journey behind the camera as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Black’ in 2005. She made her acting debut in Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ (2007) and soon became a familiar face with films like ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and ‘Raanjhanaa’. She has also impressed audiences in notable supporting roles in films such as ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, ‘Neerja’, and ‘Veere Di Wedding’.
Just a day before the pregnancy reveal, Sonam was already turning heads on Instagram with her “shaadi ready” looks. She shared two stunning outfits, captioning the post: “Shaadi ready… two days and two looks I loved!” One image featured her posing alongside Anand, while the other showed her radiating elegance in a blue saree paired with statement jewellery.
Known for championing regional fashion, Sonam recently highlighted Manipuri textiles in a chic outfit from EAST by Easternlight Zimik, a label from Manipur’s Ukhrul district. The ensemble combined a wrap-style outer layer with a black collared shirt and coordinating kashan skirt, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern style.
Sonam was also slated to headline the film adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel ‘Battle for Bittora’, produced by her sister Rhea Kapoor. The project, a mix of romance and politics, has been on hold for several years, leaving fans eager for updates.
