Aamir Khan, Vir Das drop a wild, funny teaser for ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’

Aamir Khan and Vir Das have announced their new film with a wonderfully chaotic back-and-forth. In a promotional video, Aamir walks out of a screening visibly unimpressed and turns to Vir: “This is what you call a film? You said it has action and that it’s a spy thriller. Where is the action?”

Vir calmly replies that the action is there, prompting Aamir to shoot back, “People beating you up… that’s action for you?” He then complains that the film doesn’t even have a proper ‘item’ song, pointing out that the only one features Vir dressed in women’s clothing. Convinced the audience will hate it, Aamir declares, “Flop. In a few minutes these people will come out and curse us.”

Vir decides to poke back, reminding Aamir, “Sir, everyone has a few flops; even you had ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.” The comment instantly sets Aamir off, and he starts mock-hitting Vir while grumbling about how one flop becomes everyone’s favourite insult.

The banter sets the stage for their upcoming comedy spy thriller ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’, co-directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri. The film is Vir’s feature directorial debut, although he has previously directed his own comedy specials.

Announcing the project, the makers wrote, “From ‘Kya BANAYA’ to ‘KYA BANAYA’. Get ready for a wild ride of comedy, action, romance, and some spy stuff as well.”

Presented by Aamir Khan Productions, the film features Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. ‘Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos’ releases in theatres on January 16, 2026.
