Actress Manisha Koirala will be in Bekal this month to take part in the 30th-anniversary celebrations of Mani Ratnam’s iconic film 'Bombay'. The event, organised by the Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC), will be held on the 20th. Mani Ratnam has already confirmed his attendance. Discussions are still ongoing regarding the participation of Arvind Swami, and organisers are awaiting a final decision from the actor.

The celebration also coincides with the 30th anniversary of BRDC’s formation. The corporation is using the occasion to highlight the enduring connection between 'Bombay' and Bekal Fort, which served as one of the film’s most memorable shooting locations.

In the film, Arvind Swami played Shekhar Narayanan, while Manisha Koirala portrayed Shaila Banu. With both actors likely to be present in Bekal after three decades, there is considerable curiosity about whether organisers will arrange a special reception for the on-screen couple whose wedding sequence remains popular among fans. BRDC officials say that any such plan will depend on the final confirmation of Arvind Swami’s attendance.
