Sandeep Pradeep’s ‘Cosmic Samson’ teaser hints at a fantasy world

The teaser of ‘Cosmic Samson’, directed by Abhijith Joseph and starring Sandeep Pradeep, is out. The teaser hints that Sandeep’s character may possess superpowers, while keeping the film’s story and the nature of his abilities under wraps.

The less-than-two-minute teaser shows Sandeep sitting on top of a building with his back to the camera, listening to music. His father, played by Mukesh, calls him and asks him to come home. Sandeep then jumps from the building and lands safely, without any apparent injury. The scene suggests that his character has some kind of superhuman ability.

However, the teaser does not reveal whether ‘Cosmic Samson’ is a fantasy film or a superhero story, leaving viewers curious about the world and character the film has in store.

Written and directed by Abhijith Joseph, who is known for ‘John Luther’, the film has Abhikesh Vasanth as co-writer. Sophia Paul, under the Weekend Blockbusters banner, and Manuel Cruz Darwin, under the D Group banner, are jointly producing the film. Bino T Abraham is the executive producer.

The film also stars Mukesh, Miya George, Althaf Salim, Alphonse Puthren, Anuraj O B and several newcomers. It marks Sandeep Pradeep’s return as a lead actor after ‘Padakkalam’ and ‘Echo’.

Hollywood action director Vlad Rimburg, who worked on ‘Minnal Murali’, has handled the action sequences in ‘Cosmic Samson’. His work is expected to be one of the highlights of the film.
‘Cosmic Samson’ is the 10th production from Sophia Paul’s Weekend Blockbusters, which has produced films including ‘Minnal Murali’, ‘RDX’, ‘Muththirivallikal Thalirkkumbol’ and ‘Bangalore Days’.

The film is expected to hit theatres later this year and will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Further details, including the release date, are expected to be announced soon.
