Dulquer Salmaan has revealed that the four-hour director's cut Blu-Ray version of Kammatipaadam will hit the stores soon.
The DVDs and VCDs of the Dulquer-Rajeev Ravi film, which were released on August 10, have seen record sales and were sold out inside a week.
"Record sales for Kammattipaadam DVDs & VCDs! Now get ready for the Blu-Ray with the 4 hour Directors cut! That is something I'm mad excited about," Dulquer posted on his Facebook page.
Sources close to the film's makers have told Onmanorama that the Blu-Ray version would be released in September.
Kammatipaadam had made headlines after a clash between Rajeev Ravi and the censor board members. A major portion of the movie was chopped off by the censor board. The actual duration of the movie was four hours, but it was later reduced to three hours in order to make the movie more 'audience-friendly' in theatres.
After the movie hit the screens, the director had announced that the DVD version of the film will be more detailed than the theatrical cut and will have a longer run time.
Kammatipaadam was scripted by popular writer-director-turned-actor, P Balachandran. Madhu Neelakandan has handled the cinematography. The movie is produced by Prem Menon, under the banner Global United Media.
