Actor-director Lal has said that Kerala police have assured that they will soon catch the culprits who harassed a noted Malayalam actress in Kochi on Saturday.
The film actress was on her way to Kochi from Thrissur after shooting late on Friday night, when she was waylaid by a group of assaulters. The gang stopped and entered the car near Athani in Angamaly and harassed her till they reached Palarivattom. They also took video and photos of the young actress. After attackers got off at Palarivattom, the actress took refuge at director Lal's house in Kakkanad.

It was Lal himself who called up the police and reported the incident. Talking to media, Lal said, ''The police have assured their complete support in the matter and no details will be revealed until the real culprit is found. The police have found evidence and will track down the accused as soon as possible. Even chief minister himself called and inquired about the case.”

Meanwhile, Martin, drive of the car, has been taken into police custody. Martin is reportedly said to be part of a four-member gang, who attacked the actress. Police said that the act was planned two months ago by Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Sunil, a former driver of the actress. Sunil, who has criminal charges against him, was fired for which he is suspected to have held a grudge against the actress.
