It's nothing new for a celebrity to get trolled on social media platforms and trollers are always on the lookout for their new prey.
About five months back, actor Priyamani shared the news of her engagement with long-time beau Mustufa Raj via Facebook. However, the news didn’t go down too well with many of her fans who criticized her for choosing to marry a Muslim. Some social media users even termed it as "love jihad" while others brought up her previous remarks about India being unsafe for women to troll her.
It seems the haters are back in action again. On the occasion of Diwali, Priyamani took to Facebook to wish her fans and shared a photo in which she is seen along with her fiancé. Well, this time, the actress was spared and it was her followers who got into an ugly brat.
It all started with a comment by a FB user: ''Never get married to any muslims please..it’s not only problem for you, also for him..let him b at his comfort.. and be a hindu..it’s a blessing to be hindu..plz dont gv it a colour of secularism.. hope u understand. .thanks (sic).”
Annoyed by the religious animosity, another FB user replied to it: ''She didn't ask you to give your opinion .. their families are still alive to decide and they all are happy, then who the hell are you .. secondly, if you cannot bless them, then don't curse them .. happy Diwali'' (sic).”
Unfortunately, the discussion didn’t end there and it soon became a heated debate in the name of religion, ethics and what not!
Guess Priyamani too couldn’t help but notice the war on her FB fan page. The actor responded to the comments and thanked all those who supported her. ''Hey niloufer!!happy Diwali to you and your family!!was reading all your replies to the "haters"!!!thank u so much for standing up and putting your point across!!no point in crying over spilt milk dear!haters will keep hating!IGNORE!!that’s the best way!but thank u so much!'
