Kochi: Those who watched the movie Kammatipaadam will never forget the name Balan. For it is this character who, through his volcanic performance, offered the film its fire.
A fish vendor in Champakkara fish market in Kochi, Manikandan prefers to be a commoner even after proving his mettle in his debut.
"My job in the fish market has given me a lot of energy. The character of Balan in the film is like a rubber ball. I used this energy in that character as well," Manikandan says.
However, he is very practical while talking about the dream world of films.
"It cannot be said if I will be there in films always. But I will be here in this fish market which can be ventured into, any time," Manikandan says.
