Another festive season is here and for movie industry, Vishu is undoubtedly one of the biggest release seasons in Kerala.
To the disappointment of moviegoers, many Malayalam movies, which were slated to release for the Malayalam new year, have been postponed.
While the much-awaited Mammootty starrer White has been postponed to April 29, Kunchacko Boban's Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti will be released on April 28 and Jayaram-starring horror thriller Aadupuliyattam to hit the screens only by April 22.
Interestingly, Kerala will have two big releases from Tamil and Hindi this week. The highly anticipated Vijay starrer Theri is gearing up for a grand release. The theatrical rights of Theri's distribution in Kerala was bought by Carnival Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd and Friday Film House (FFH) two weeks back.
Viewers in Kerala are eagerly waiting for its release as one of the characters played by Vijay is a Kottayam-based man named Joseph Kuruvilla. The movie, directed by Atlee Kumar, also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson in the lead roles.
Shah Rukh Khan's Fan is the major release, which will hit screens on April 15. "Fan," starring Shah Rukh in double roles, is directed by Maneesh Sharma. The film is produced by Yash Raj Films banner.
However, Nivin Pauly's Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Dileep's King Liar and Disney's The Jungle Book, which were released last week, is running successfully in theatres across Kerala and can be a good treat this festive season.
