Panaji: Union minister of state for I&B Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore Monday offered moments of laughter to the audience of the closing ceremony of this year’s IFFI, saying he knows why Kattappa killed Baahubali – a secret everyone who watched the blockbuster film Baahubali: The Beginning would love to know.

Rathore made the remark while inviting Baahubali director S.S. Rajamouli to the glittering closing ceremony.

“I thank Rajamouli for coming here. I also thank him for telling me why Kattappa killed Baahubali,” Rathore told a cheering crowd.

The shooter-turned-minister was quick to give a political spin to his comment saying, Rajamouli revealed the secret to him because his government knows everything.

“This government knows everything and it keeps all the secrets,” he said, in an apparent reference to the surprise announcement of the demonetization of high denomination currency notes by prime minister Narendra Modi earlier this month.

Rathode and Rajamouli gave away the awards to the winners at the ceremony which marked the closing of the 47th edition of IFFI.

Rajamouli is currently shooting for the second part of Baahubali - Baahubali: The Conclusion, which features Prabhas in the lead role once again, with Rana Daggubati playing Bhallala Deva, Anushka Shetty as Devasena and Tamannaah Bhatia as Avanthika.
