Their 10-cent plot was in Edavanakkad, Malappuram in Malappuram district and their concept was a small house that suited all their needs.
Lowering the wall height and using metal grills on top helped reduce construction costs. Instead of using interlocking tiles for the courtyard, they opted for baby metal sheets. The exterior is attractive with a combination of flat and sloped roofs.

The 1500 sq ft house includes a porch, sit-out, formal living room, family living room, dining area, kitchen, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. The open-plan interior, with minimal partitions, creates a spacious feel. They avoided overcrowding the interior with furniture.
The staircase features a metal frame with wood and Moroccan tiles. Keeping furnishing costs minimal and avoiding expensive materials helped control expenses. They omitted unnecessary panelling, false ceilings, and elaborate lighting work.
The house, including structure and furnishings, was completed for 35 lakhs. They managed to stay within their projected budget thanks to meticulous planning from the outset.
Cost-cutting factors included minimizing square footage while maximizing space utilization included leaving walls and ceilings with an exposed finish, saving on painting costs, using tiles costing less than ₹50 per square foot, using aluminium to set up the kitchen.
