Nissan, which aims to gain traction in the Indian market with Kicks, has unveiled its compact SUV recently. The first-look video of the vehicle on which Nissan has high hopes is out.

The body of the New Nissan Kicks is built with a GRAPHENE (gravity-philic energy absorption) body structure, enabling it to absorb impact energy, which makes the vehicle unique, Thomas Kuehl, president, Nissan India Operations, had said during the announcement of the launch.

Here is a closer look at the premium features of the vehicle.

Kicks measures 4,383 mm in length, 1,813 mm in width and 1,656 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,673 mm. Compared to the global model, the Indian version of Kicks is a larger vehicle; it is longer by 89 mm, it is wider, taller and has a longer wheelbase.

It shares its MO platform with Renault Duster, Lodgy and Captur. The SUV also shares its engines and transmissions with Renault models.

Kicks is powered by K9K 1.5-litre diesel and H4K 1.5-litre petrol engines. The 1,461cc diesel makes 110 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque, while the 1,498cc petrol produces 106 PS of power and 142 Nm of torque. While the diesel is mated to a six-speed gear box, the petrol gets a five-speed manual transmission.

Compared to its global model, Kicks in India gets a redesigned front bumper, aluminium skid plate, daytime running lights with LED headlamps, honeycomb grille and V-motion chrome band. The Indian version retains the muscular looks of the global model.
