Kochi: Supplyco has decided to split bills exceeding ₹2,000 into two separate payments in view of the Centre’s decision to levy additional charges on merchants for UPI transactions above the threshold.
The state-run retail chain has instructed depot managers to accept payments exceeding ₹2,000 in two separate transactions, with each payment amount kept below ₹2,000.
However, the implementation has been deferred as the Centre has postponed its decision. Supplyco’s finance department has directed depot managers to introduce the system once the Centre announces a revised date.
