INDIA bloc names SC ex-judge B Sudershan Reddy as vice-presidential candidate

New Delhi: The INDIA bloc on Tuesday announced former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy as its candidate for the upcoming vice-presidential election.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said at a press conference that the alliance had unanimously decided to field Reddy.

The election, necessitated by the resignation of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar last month, will take place on September 9. The deadline for filing nominations is August 22.
