New Delhi: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced a reduction of ₹51.50 in the price of commercial LPG cylinders, effective Monday. With the latest revision, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will cost ₹1,580.

Prices of commercial cylinders have seen frequent adjustments this year. On August 1, OMCs cut prices by ₹33.50, following a reduction of ₹58.50 in July. In June, rates were trimmed by ₹24, while April saw prices at ₹1,762.

There has been no change in the price of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders, companies clarified. The revision is expected to benefit restaurants, hotels, and other establishments that rely on commercial LPG for daily operations. OMCs revise rates every month based on global crude oil prices and other market factors.

Meanwhile, the Union Cabinet this month approved a targeted subsidy of ₹300 per 14.2-kg cylinder (up to 9 refills annually, proportionately pro-rated for 5-kg cylinders) for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during FY 2025–26. The scheme will involve an expenditure of ₹12,000 crore.
