ISRO's trusted workhorse PSLV-C62 lifted off from the spaceport here on Monday, carrying an Earth observation satellite along with 14 other commercial payloads for both domestic and overseas customers. However, the mission encountered a deviation in its flight path during the third stage, officials said.

"There was a deviation in the flight path during the third stage, and ISRO is analysing the data," ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan said.

Marking the first launch of the year, the mission was part of a contract secured by NewSpace India Ltd, the commercial arm of ISRO. The 44.4-metre-tall, four-stage PSLV-C62 rocket lifted off from the first launch pad at a pre-fixed time of 10.18 am on Monday.
