The comrades in Kerala are a passionate lot, known for their overzealous reactions, especially in social media. So when Moody's Investors Service Friday raised India's sovereign rating for the first time in more than 13 years, it did not go down well with the comrades in Kerala.
The Leftists just could not accept that growth prospects of the country have improved under prime minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
The red-hot comrades had to vent their ire, and plunged into the social media and found a certain Moody on Facebook and bombarded him with obscene comments, most of it in Malayalam. Only that the certain Moody turned out to be former Australian cricketer Tom Moody.
Poor Tom Moody, whose only tryst with Kerala probably would have been the lone match he played against India in Kochi way back in 1998, quite really didn't understand why he was getting a lesson in Malayalam. Some of them posted very fervent comments and slammed the Moody's for giving a high rating to a country, where people were condemned to stand in ATM queues day-night after the much demonetization move. The Left supporters even dared him to come to comrade Pinarayi's Kerala and give a rating to God's country.
However, once their folly became known, the Sangh Parivar lot took over and slammed the comrades of 'literal Kerala'.
However, some Left supporters alleged that Sangh workers created fake accounts and posted obscenities on Moody's page to tarnish the communist's image.
This is not the first time that Keralites are hitting headlines for their antics on social media. PM Modi was also at the receiving end of trolls after he compared Kerala to Somalia, and inadvertently set the 'pomonemodi' (You Go Modi) hashtag trending.
The over-enthusiastic netizens had also royally trolled tennis star Maria Sharapova after she said she did not know cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar.
