Elephant runs amok, dies after falling into well

The elephant named Guruvayoor Seshadri fell into the well on the premises of the house of one Viswan Neelipparambil around 8.45 pm.

Palakkad: An elephant ran amok and died after falling into a well here Wednesday night.

The elephant named Guruvayoor Seshadri was owned by the Guruvayoor Devaswom.

The elephant was returning after being paraded at the annual festival at Sreenarayanapuram Uthrathilkavu temple at Thiruvazhiyode when it ran amok and fell into the well around 8.45 pm.

The well on the premises of one Viswan Neelipparambil's house did not have any outer wall.

The elephant carcass was taken out around 10.30 pm by the police and fire and rescue services personnel using crane and earth mover.
