Thrissur Police causes a road accident, but they seem to have saved someone's life

L-R: The police vehicle can be seen crashed into the suspects car. The suspects' car. Weapons inside the vehicle.

Can an accident save someone's life? A series of car accidents -- one of which was deliberate -- that happened in Thrissur on Tuesday seems to have done just that.

The police found that those involved in the crash were contract killers from Kottayam, who had reached Thrissur to murder a member of a rival gang.

Here is what happened
A car was found abandoned at Venginissery in Thrissur district as it had been damaged after crashing into a lorry Tuesday afternoon.

The police discovered a billhook inside the vehicle and launched a probe.

They learned that four passengers from the car had fled in another car that was following it. The Thrissur Cherpu Police set out to track the vehicle and intercepted it dramatically.

It is understood that the police vehicle was driven into the side of the suspects' car to neutralise it at Chevoor. The suspects had been driving violating a one-way when the police jeep intercepted it.

A Sub-Inspector who was in the front seat and two suspects suffered injuries in the crash. Two men from the car fled from the scene but were soon nabbed.

The police found that the five-member gang had come from Ettumannur in Kottayam and had been camping in Thrissur for two days.

All five were reportedly under the influence of drugs. The police seized weapons and ganja from the vehicle.
