Uma Thomas MLA, who sustained serious injuries following a fall from a stage during a dance event at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor in Kochi, will be on ventilator support for a few more days, according to the latest medical bulletin issued by the Renai Medicity, where she is being treated.

A CT scan done on Monday morning showed that the brain injury had not aggravated. Although there is no concern over internal bleeding, lung injury has slightly worsened. No issues were detected in the scan of the abdomen, the bulletin noted.

The vitals of the patient are stable, however owing to the injuries sustained in lungs, she will continue to be on ventilator support for a few more days. Antibiotics are being administered to treat lung injuries, and at present, this is being given priority, according to the medical bulletin.

There is no need for emergency medical intervention, although a scan has revealed an undisplaced cervical spine fracture. Once the patient's condition improves, adequate treatment procedures can be followed, the bulletin said. The medical board convened on Monday to assess Uma Thomas's condition.
