Thiruvananthapuram: Ten women were injured in a wasp attack at Kottakkal in Nagaroor panchayat on Monday. The employees under the rural employment guarantee scheme were clearing land overgrown with bushes and shrubs in the ward.
According to the witnesses, one of the labourers swung the hoe while levelling the land and accidentally hit a wasp nest on a tree nearby. Soon, all of them were stung by wasps. The women alerted the residents, who rushed them to the community health centre at Kesavapuram. The incident happened around 9.30 am.
