Man found dead in Malappuram two days after he went missing

Feroke: A 58-year-old man from Vazhakode in Malappuram, who had been missing for two days, was found dead at Perumukham. The deceased has been identified as Anvar Sadath of Thalakkunnathu at Virippadam, Akkodu.
His body was discovered in the premises of a relative’s house in Perumukham. He was found wearing a helmet and the body appeared to be at least two days old. The fingers on his left foot were missing.
Anvar Sadath, who had been running a drinking water supply agency, was staying at his relative’s home in Perumukham. He had reportedly left for Mangaluru on July 8 and last contacted his family on the afternoon of July 10. He had been missing ever since prompting the family to file a missing person complaint with the Vazhakkad police.
His body was eventually found during a search conducted by relatives. A police team led by Feroke Assistant Commissioner M M Siddique and forensic experts visited the scene and the body was later shifted to the Government Medical College Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
The funeral was held at Akkodu Juma Masjid on Sunday afternoon. Anvar Sadath is survived by his wife, Khadeeja and four children — Noufal, Noushida, Shamna and Shamla.
