Alappuzha: At the St Michael’s Church cemetery in Thathampally, Alappuzha, a family tomb now offers more than just a final resting place. A bronze plaque bearing a QR code, fixed to the tomb of K T Mathai Karikkampally and his wife Rosamma Mathai, opens a digital window into their family’s rich legacy.

Located along Madam Road in Thathampally Ward, the tomb of Karikkampally K T Mathai, a lawyer and former president of the Alappuzha Bar Association and his wife Rosamma, has been transformed into a digital memorial. Scanning the QR code using a smartphone takes visitors to a  webpage that hosts an archive of family history, photographs, videos and personal stories. Visitors can also pay their respects by signing a digital guestbook.
