Thiruvananthapuram: Eleven officials from the Kerala Police have been selected for the prestigious President’s Police Medal, announced in connection with the Independence Day celebrations.
SP Ajith Vijayan will receive the medal for distinguished service, while 10 others have been chosen for their meritorious service to the force. The awardees are:
- Syamkumar Vasudevan Pilla (Superintendent of Police)
- Ramesh Kumar Parameswarakurupp Narayanakurupp (Superintendent of Police)
- Perayil Balakrishnan Nair (Additional Superintendent of Police)
- Pravi EV (Assistant Commandant)
- Preman U (DySP)
- Mohankumar Ramakrishna Panicker (Head Constable)
- Suresh Babu Vasudevan (Deputy Commandant)
- Ramadas Elayadath Puthanveettil (Inspector)
- Sajeesha KP (Head Constable)
- Shinilal SS (Head Constable)
The medals will be presented during the Independence Day celebrations on Friday.
Nationwide, the Centre has announced service medals for 1,090 police personnel from various central and state forces on the eve of Independence Day. According to a Union Home Ministry statement, 233 personnel will receive the Medal for Gallantry (GM), 99 will be honoured with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), and 758 will receive the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM).
