Thalakulathoor: The Ayushyam project for the elderly, implemented through the panchayat Government Ayurveda dispensary, has taken off to a start in Thalakulathoor panchayat. District medical officer Dr P M Sini, DPM Dr Aneena P Thyagarajan, medical officer Dr Praveen Kalathingal, K K Sivadasan, K G Prajitha, Seena Suresh, Anil Korambra, block panchayat members I P Geetha and T M Ramachandran, chief medical officer Dr K Yadhunandhanan, Karunya project nodal officer Dr K Vibiju, ward member Rasia Thattari, HMC member Prakashan Muttuyampurathu, Dr T Niveditha, P Valsan, Dr T K Anilkumar, Dr G S Sugesh Kumar and Dr K Praveen spoke on the occasion.

A training programme was also conducted for geriatric palliative volunteers under the National Ayush Mission. Two volunteers have been appointed in each ward for the execution of the Karunya Vayomithram and Ayushyam projects. In addition, the support of ASHA workers will be made available.
