Karipur: A fast-track immigration has been launched at the Karipur airport for passengers travelling abroad. Immigration procedures could now be easily completed within just 20 seconds using the newly installed e-gates.
Moreover, passengers can also skip the long queues in front of the counters to verify the documents and complete the immigration process.
Besides Karippur, Home Minister Amit Shah has virtually inaugurated the e gate facilities of the Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Program at airports in Amritsar, Lucknow, Trichy and Thiruvananthapuram.
District collector R Vinod, SP R Vishwanath, airport director Muneer Madambat, K Arun Mohan, Arun K Pavithran, FRRO Krishnaraj, ICGS commandant Sandeep Singh, customs preventive deputy commissioner S Syam Nath, Sinoy K Mathew, ASP Karthik Balakumar, customs assistant commissioner Rajeev Kumar Palliyil, CISF deputy commandant Akhilesh Kumar and airport operators committee chairman Geo George Emmatty spoke at the event.
