Chundambatta: Vakkila poetry workshop has been held at Chundambatta GWLP school to nurture poetic skills in students. The event was inaugurated by noted poet, writer and assistant professor of Malappuram Educational Department at Aligarh Muslim University, Dr. Harris Chundakadan.
He urged to sow the seeds of poetry in the minds of children so that they would develop a third eye that opens to society. PTA president KP Anoop presided over the meeting.
Meanwhile, headmistress N Asha Jyothi, school-level Vidyarangam coordinator CA Khader, teachers S Mini, PA Shaiju, T Jaleela, K Jayasree, SK Rama, T Sabareesh, UK Shahanas, MPTA president Hafsa Nazrin, PTA vice president K Ambika and MK Asif addressed the audience.
Dr. Harris Chundakadan donated his book Akkuvinte Sahasika Yathrakal, a children’s literary work, to the school library. It was followed by a live poetry presentation by the students on various topics and themes.
Headmistress N Asha Jyothi said that wall poems and class-based poetry magazines would be released as part of the poetry workshop.
