The Cherpulassery Municipality has published a Master Plan aimed at the overall development in every sector, including infrastructure. Municipal Chairman P Ramachandran announced that the master plan has been prepared as a dream project for Cherpulassery, and that people's grievances and opinions regarding it should be submitted in writing to the Municipal Secretary before September 21.

The published document is a draft master plan envisioning 20 years of development. The master plan, prepared with the assistance of the LSGD Planning Division, includes various projects aimed at completion in different sectors in the coming years.

The proposed map of the master plan divides the area into 16 sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, Future Urban Zone, Industrial Mix Zone, Tourism Development Zone, paddy cultivation, and dry-land farming.

Along with Cherpulassery town, key junctions such as Thootha, Karalmanna, Panniyamkurissi, Eliyapetta, and Karumanamkurissi have also been envisioned as commercial zones. A bus terminal, including a shopping mall with modern facilities, proposed on the western side of Ottapalam Road, is one of the key projects in the master plan. A mini civil station, sports complex, and town park are also included in the proposed plan.

As many as 25 important roads in the town will be upgraded to a high standard. Future construction activities will be regulated in accordance with this plan, however, it will not affect existing construction activities. Both government and private land are covered by the master plan.

The Municipal Chairman clarified that collective discussions had been held with representatives of political parties, organizations, and department officials prior to preparing the plan.

The master plan is available for inspection on the municipality's official website, Isgkerala.gov.in, and at the municipal office during working hours.

Town Planner V P Deepa, Deputy Town Planner M Sharath Shankar, Assistant Town Planner K V Jagadambika Devi, Municipal Vice-Chairperson C Kamalam, Municipal Secretary V T Priya, and Municipal Standing Committee members V T Sadiq Hussain, Safna Parakkal, and K T Premeela informed that a help desk is operating for the public to check if their land is included in the master plan and to clarify any doubts.
