Angamaly: As she took the stage at the Tribhangi National Dance Festival, it was a dream come true for Tanvi Suresh, a classical dancer and the first graduate from the transgender community in her field.

Tanvi also holds the distinction of being the only transgender artist to perform at the Tribhangi Central Zone Dance Festival, organised by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi.

A native of Udayamperoor, Tanvi has been actively participating in dance events since she was in Class 7. She is a recipient of the prestigious Kalai Arasi National Award as well as the Best Dance Artist Award, instituted by the State Social Justice Department. Now a second-year postgraduate student, Tanvi is determined to scale new heights in the world of classical dance.
