Kozhencherry: The residents of Njoozhoor in Airoor panchayat are distressed and troubled by the constant attack of an eagle. The eagle that has been living in a tree for the last four days, near Chuzhukunnil Melekoottu M P Thomas’ house, is attacking the residents near the Providence Home at Airoor Vaidyashala Padi. It drifts down to attack people who walk on the road or come out of the house.

M P Thomas’ wife sustained injuries after she was attacked by the eagle the other day. She sought treatment at the district hospital after she was wounded on her forehead. The people in the neighbourhood are also troubled by the eagle, which attacks swiftly.

Many wear helmets and hold umbrellas above their head while getting out of their homes. Although the rapid response team arrived after the forest department was alerted, they couldn’t catch the eagle.

Meanwhile, panchayat member Samkutty Ayyakavil urged the authorities to drive the eagle away from the area to protect the lives of the residents
