Malappuram: Perinthalmanna police have arrested three men accused of luring underage boys into drug peddling and encouraging them to use narcotics.

The arrested have been identified as Muhammad Rashid (34) of Chorampatta, Vazhenkada; Vishnu (22) of Kaliathpadi, Cherpulassery; and Ashwin (20) of Puthu Pazhani, Karalmanna. The operation was led by Perinthalmanna Circle Inspector Sumesh Sudhakaran.

According to police, the accused enticed minors with money, promised cannabis, and even assured trips to various locations in Odisha. Investigations revealed that the boys were taken both to a house in Pattambi and to Odisha, where they were given cannabis.

The case came to light after a 16-year-old boy from Alipparamba lodged a complaint, which led to the arrests. Police confirmed that all three suspects face multiple cases at different police stations.

The operation was conducted by a special team including Sub-Inspector Akshay and Civil Police Officers Jayan, Krishnaprasad, and Salman.
